SEATTLE ROTARY ONLINE

Seattle Rotary Online is a significant marketing opportunity that is available to organizations that wish to help co-sponsor it. Intended as a library where you can just pull a speaker’s presentation off the shelf, Seattle Rotary Online has been sponsored by First Choice Health CEO, Ken Hamm. Ken is willing to share the financial load (and public awareness!) with companies or other organizations that wish broader awareness within the club or community.

Sponsorships are available for as little as $500Please contact Seattle 4 Rotarian, David Endicott by email or at 206-409-3275.

Meet John Hojaboom
It is my pleasure to introduce our newest member, https://scontent.fsnc1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15037267_10154165360644576_8274658773750659597_n.jpg?oh=2560769075d196b2de9477ad47230f30&oe=58CD62CEJohn Hojaboom.  John has been nominated by his wife of nearly 50 years, Carolyn Hojaboom, and our president, Cathy Gibson.  Thanks to Carolyn’s active membership in our club, John is well known to many of us, so for a number of you this is not an introduction, but instead a re-introduction.
Meet Jaime Mendez
If you think about capturing lightening in a bottle, you’ll have a good sense of what it’s like to talk with one of our newest young Rotarians, Jaimé Mendez.  I know you will all join me in giving a warm Seattle 4 welcome to Jaimé Mendez – smiles, technology and business; classification, technology.

Changes to Attendance Policy

In April 2016, the Rotary International Coucil on Legislation passed that Rotary Clubs may relax their attendance requirements.  On August 25, 2016 the Board of Directors for Seattle Rotary adopted this policy.  Going forward, attendance at our regular Rotary lunch meetings will still be captured and reported to the District 5030 secretary.

What does this mean to you?
  • If you are a Committee Chair or organizer of a Service Project / Fellowship Event, you are not expected to report attendance to the Rotary office.
  • If you like to show consistency for 100% attendance and you miss a Seattle Rotary lunch, you should self-report your make up at www.seattlerotary.org (on the homepage under "Meeting Information")
If you have questions about this policy please contact our Club Secretary, Virginia McKenzie, at virginia.mckenzie@parkerlynch.com

WIDER WORLD OF ROTARY

by Corinne Cavanaugh

Connecting for Good Tour

Rotary and polio eradication have become synonyms over the years. You might ask, how does a membership organization filled with volunteers make this happen? Strong and steady leadership.

Recently a few of these leaders from Rotary International including President John and Judy Germ, incoming President Ian and Juliet Riseley, Trustee Mike McGovern, Carol Pandak, Director of PolioPlus, Kris Tsau, Advocacy Specialist, and David Alexander, Chief of Communications joined local Rotarians who have had a steadfast commitment to on the ground work for National Immunization Days and advocacy efforts. During the event, District Governor Bo Darling presented a check from Rain City Rotary for PolioPlus to President John Germ. Together we will see this disease through to full eradication!

In attendance:
Rotary International: President John and Judy Germ, incoming President Ian and Juliet Riseley, Trustee Mike McGovern, Carol Pandak, Director of PolioPlus, Kris Tsau, Advocacy Specialist, and David Alexander, Chief of Communications

Rotary 5030 & 5020: Past Seattle Rotary President and Secretary of State Ralph Monroe, District Governor Bo and Patti Darling, Past District Governor Ezra and Yobi Teshome, 5030 PolioPlus Chair Steve Crane, Incoming Seattle Rotary President Mark Wright, Olympia Rotary President Wendy Holden, and PolioPlus Advocate Corinne Cavanaugh
