SUPPORT OUR ROTARY FOUNDATIONS FOR A YEAR OF ACTION AND IMPACT!
As Rotarians, we are leaders connecting for extraordinary good –both in our community and around the world. Together we are eradicating polio and malaria, bringing fresh water to rural villages worldwide to stop the spread of disease, and helping our neighbors in need with housing, healthy foods, and educational opportunities.
Once a year we ask you to fulfill your membership obligations and take action by making two gifts that will impact the world. One is to the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF). The other is to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Thank you for taking action now to help our club have a powerful and positive impact on our world.
Do you have a friend, co-worker, or acquaintance who you think would enjoy Rotary membership?

A Celebration of Service for the Hidden Homeless
April 17 at Noon
The Westin, 1900 5th Ave.
This year, about 20,000 children in King County will experience homelessness. And yet, when you read or hear about homelessness, the media frequently focuses on adults. That’s because family homelessness remains largely hidden from view.
This week, our member, and Wellspring Family Services’ CEO, Heather Fitzpatrick will provide a glimpse into the hidden crisis of family homelessness, and give you an opportunity to directly participate in helping these families in need. She will explain why family homelessness is the least visible, yet most impactful, form of homelessness.
Heather will give us an update on the impact of our Club’s centennial project, the Rotary Support Center for Families. She’ll also talk about the future of she envisions in the house that Rotary built.

Members are still welcome to purchase their lunch at the door.
If you plan to bring a prospective member as a guest, please contact Caroline at caroline@seattlerotary.org.
Rotarians welcomed King County Executive Dow Constantine, who began by saying that as a native of Seattle, he has watched over the last almost 58 years as the city has rapidly changed around him. His pride in the city and county became evident as he outlined the changes that have been made possible because of the county’s ability to empower its employees to be creative, passionate advocates for the people they serve. By empowering people, we allow them to become aligned behind the changes that are necessary to meet our needs and grow our infrastructure. Regional services such as sewage, transportation, and public health have improved because of that approach to improvement.
David has his own business, as he says, “helping people design and execute buy and sell strategies” He specializes in multifamily, residential, and investment properties.
Earlier career directions took David to banking and website design. Then he decided that the real estate industry would allow him to serve a range of clients, helping them be successful.
It is my pleasure to introduce our newest member, Judy Kaiser, who is doing cancer and infectious disease research at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center. Judy has been nominated by Linda Cheever and Nancy Osborne and her classification is Health Care.

Rotary District 5030 is hosting a series of blood drives with local nonprofit Bloodworks Northwest this spring to help provide lifesaving blood to people in need in our community. It’s the easiest way there is to save three lives in the time span of your lunch hour and the perfect way to live up to Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self.
Please come to the blood drive at the Seattle 4 Rotary Club bloodmobile in Seattle on Monday, April 15. See the flyer for more information and how to sign up!
In addition to being someone’s hero, as an extra-special thank you, you’ll automatically be entered into Bloodworks’ Bold for Blood & Adventure program, where you’ll be eligible to win great prizes like a $500 Alaska Airlines flight voucher, a $100 REI gift card and more. And with blood supplies already low, your impact will be even greater.
