The Washington wine industry and why it matters

August 8 at Noon
The Westin, 1900 5th Ave
Steve Griessel came to the United States from South Africa in 2002 for a new adventure after having built South Africa’s largest tourism company, with over 2,700 employees.  Steve built several more businesses between 2002 and 2011 and now owns the Betz Family Winery in Woodinville. Betz wines consistently rank among the best wines in the world. Steve is a dynamic, motivating speaker and wine expert. He will remind us of the impact the Washington wine industry has on our economy, the threats it’s facing, and what we can do about it.
Our annual Seafair fleet week meeting at Bell Harbor featured the music of the Navy Band Northwest and provided insights about today’s all-volunteer military through the experiences of four accomplished military officers, who all happened to be women.  Seattle’s 69th Seafair celebration was also featured, including Miss Seafair knighting President Cindy Runger as Governess of Go-Getters and Do-Gooders.

Special Recognition

At this week's luncheon, Bill Center recognized former member Tom Jaffa, who was a driving force behind the annual fleet week program before suffering a massive stroke earlier this year. Notes of encouragement can be sent to:
