Seattle Rotary Online is a significant marketing opportunity that is available to organizations that wish to help co-sponsor it. Intended as a library where you can just pull a speaker’s presentation off the shelf, Seattle Rotary Online is available to companies or other organizations that wish broader awareness within the club or community.
Sponsorships are available for as little as $500Please contact Seattle 4 Rotarian, David Endicott by email or at 206-409-3275.

Seattle Mayoral Race

September 20 at Noon
Washington State Convention Center
705 Pike St.

KUOW’s Ross Reynolds will lead a conversation with Seattle’s two Mayoral candidates, Jenny Durkan and Cary Moon. This is a great chance to get to know each of them better as election day nears. What motivates them to lead? What experience do they offer voters? What are their priorities should they be elected? Seattle continues to experience tremendous growth which presents opportunities and challenges for our community. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the two contenders seeking to lead the City of Seattle.

Seattle Rotary Service Foundation Opportunity Grants

The Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF) has announced a new pilot program called “Opportunity Grants”.  SRSF is trying to be responsive to the preferences of our member donors and the needs of our community, recognizing that sometimes our usual structure of annual grants does not make funds available when special opportunities, emergencies, and unique needs arise.
All applications must be received by SRSF by December 1, 2017.

last Day for Board Member Nominations

The nomination process to identify officers and at-large board members for the next year's Board of Directors, and Trustees for the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation is now underway.   We are seeking candidates with the experience and skill sets which will help the board achieve the goals identified in the strategic plan.
If you would like to be considered for a position on either board or would like to suggest a fellow club member, please forward this information, including a description of qualifications, to David Siebert, Chair of the Governance Committee at by September 15.

Wider World of Rotary

By Virginia McKenzie
The key to unlocking the Wider World of Rotary can be as easy as wearing your Rotary pin.  I'll share a little personal story.  While wearing my Rotary pin, this young professional in the photo below noticed it and shared with me, "Oh, nice!  You're in Rotary?  I was an officer in Rotaract at UW Tacoma."  I had just helped him land a new job so I figured it was the perfect time to help him find a Rotary Club too.  So we attended the Kirkland Rotary meeting together.  Next week he's going to invite another former officer from UW Tacoma to join him too.

There are so many things to cheer for in this story!  1) Helping a Rotaractor transition to Rotary 2) Strengthening ties between D5030 and D5020 3) Deepening my professional relationship with this person through Rotary 4) Looking forward to collaborating on future Rotary projects together.  Long story short:  Wearing your Rotary pin is a wonderful way to spark new friendships with former Rotarians and recruit them back into the fold.
