Seafair Fleet Week
Women in the military panel

August 1 at Noon
Bell Harbor, 2211 Alaskan Way

It is the first week of August in Seattle and that means the summer Seafair festival will come to a crescendo on Lake Washington and in the air. Come to learn about what is new and what traditions continue in Genessee Park.  Following that update, you'll be treated to a panel of high-performing military women. Leaders from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps will provide insights to their success in America's volunteer military culture.  Seattle 4 members, including Past President Bill Center, Seafair CEO Richard Andersen, and two of our experienced military members will join guests in the program. We assure you will be inspired by their stories!

Parking:
We recommend parking in the Bell Street Pier Garage, which connects directly to Bell Harbor and via the sky bridge and can be accessed at both 2323 Elliott Avenue and 9 Wall Street.
SILEO SHEDS LIGHT ON THE DARK WEB WITH HIS HACKER'S BLACKLIST
President Cindy Runger rang the bell, welcomed all attendees, and then introduced Skip Rowland and Freeman Fong who led the group in a spirited rendition of the National Anthem.

George Twiss provided the inspiration of the day, remarking that we should each seek out and breath in nature.

President Cindy then introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. Charley Dickey welcomed the club's newest member, Carla Anderson, who is a descendant of Finnish fishermen. She is engaged in protecting the remnants of their first home, the Isle Royale in Lake Superior. Carla is the general manager of aircraft interior design for Mitsubishi International.

New Badges and Other Changes for This Rotary Year

On July 25th, all members received a new badge. If you did not pick up your badge this week, they will still be available at registration for the next several weeks. If there is an error with your new badge or you feel your new classification doesn’t reflect your current status, please contact Club Manager, Caroline Bobanick at caroline@seattlerotary.org for assistance so we can fix this for you.

Starting August 1st, lunch cost at the door will be slightly increased to $40 (from $38) which simply offsets increases in catering costs over the past couple of years

2018-2019 Rotary Academy

Registration is now open for the 2018-2019 Rotary Academy which will start this September. The Rotary Academy is a comprehensive self-paced study program of Rotary information — great for both new and experienced Rotarians and anyone considering club or district leadership positions.
