Join the Evening Edition at the Purple Café and Wine Bar for a conversation with attorney Craig Kobayashi as he discusses his experiences in the industry and the incredible work he has done for Seattle and the Japanese-American community. Please note that this event has a limited capacity.

For the past 24 years, Detlef and Mari Schrempf have worked to provide children a better chance at succeeding in life. Inspired by their belief in the value of a solid family life and their desire to give back to a community that has given them so much, they have raised nearly $20 million for 140 different charities - all supporting children and families. Detlef and Mari have been the recipients of many awards including, Children’s Alliance Outstanding Advocate Award, Best of Bellevue’s Extra Mile for Kids and the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club Community Award. Join us to honor and celebrate their leadership and learn more about this three-time All-Star athlete and his 16-year career in the NBA which included the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Sonics.

The Seattle 4 Rotary Mariners invite you to a night of fun on Lake Union with Duck Dodge either by land or by sea. Joint Pete DeLaunay on his boat leaving from Queen City Yacht Club at 5:30pm or meet up with Sue Nixon on her houseboat at 6:00pm. 8:00am @ Spruce Street Crisis Center, 1102 E Spruce St, Seattle
Volunteers are needed to help paint the 18 dorm rooms for the Spruce Street Crisis Center which is one of the only licensed locations in Seattle that is able to take in children who are victims of sex trafficking. Join Rotarians and Rotaractors from around area for this hands-on community service event. Bring your painting clothes and we will provide the painting supplies, coffee, and pizzas for lunch. The program director, Deborah Tillman, will be there to answer questions about the program and provide a tour.

Almost every girl has experienced girl-against-girl bullying. Unfortunately, almost every girl has also contributed to bullying. Help give them the tools to end the cycle by attending a screening of the IndieFlix Foundation Film: Finding Kind.
Inspired by our speaker, Scilla Andreen, and hosted by Girl Scout Troop 41002, this two-hour event is designed for girls in 5th through 12th grades and is open to all Rotarians. The program includes a movie and facilitated discussion.
Cost: $8 per person. Early bird discounted price of $6 available through June 30.
Join Seattle City Rotaract to watch the Seattle Sounders as they take on the LA Galaxy.
Our tickets will be located in the Green Zone, which has a great view and close to concession stands.
20 lucky ticket purchasers will be randomly selected to watch the last 20 minutes of the game on the pitch. Space is limited so get your tickets early!
Tickets will be starting at $34. A portion of the funds will be donated to Seattle City Rotaract in helping expand their mentoring program with the King County Juvenile Detention Center.
Have you ever wanted to arrive to a Husky game by boat? This is your chance; the Rotary Mariners invite you to join to the UW Husky game against Fresno State on September 16th in style. Buy your boat tickets and leave Chinooks Restaurant from Fisherman’s Terminal 90 minutes before kickoff. Enjoy free parking at Fisherman’s Terminal and there will be beverages and snacks to buy on board during the cruise. Boat tickets must be purchased separately.
It is not too early to start looking forward to the Rotary International Convention next year! Save the date for June 23-27, 2018 in Toronto, Canada. I attended my very first RI Convention in 2009 and have not missed one since! If you'd like to talk to me about what to expect, please reach out. I will "tell all!"
