With grant funding from SRSF, the Peacebuilder Committee is recognizing the many community programs of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral that promote peace and justice. One of the most recent activities was the sponsorship of a forum and peaceful march to highlight the separation of families and children at the border. Following the brief peace pole ceremony at 12:30, Rotarians and family members are invited to tour the I AMexhibit in the nave. I AM celebrates the rich, diverse and pivotal contribution that Middle Eastern women make to the enduring global quest for harmony and peace.
Memorial services have been planned for long-time Seattle Rotary member and former King County Executive Randy Revelle. A celebration of life will take place on July 8 at 2:00 pm at St. Marks Cathedral.
JOIN THE WINNERS FOR LIFE TASK FORCE
The Seattle Rotary Education Committee is launching a task force to re-think how to best manage and execute our Winners for Life project. It’s a club favorite project that connects us with 40+ amazing Seattle students year in and year out. At the same time, managing $25,000+ annual scholarships to 10+ scholars is a complicated project that requires a lot of dedication and support from education committee members and club volunteers. We need your help. We must ensure that we have the right process combined with Rotary service power to provide the students with the quality and support that they deserve. Please join us in this effort to make Winners for Life the best project it can be and email Lori Walker at lwalkerseattle@gmail.com if you would like to be on the task force.
