Sherman Alexie
I am my mother’s son"

September 27 at Noon
The Westin
1900 5th Ave

Sherman Alexie is a poet, novelist, essayist and filmmaker who grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. If you’ve seen him speak before, you know he knows how to craft a story. He’s been honored with the National Book Award, Faulkner Award, Hemingway Award, American Book Award and the Audience Award and Filmmakers Trophy at the Sundance Festival. He has long called Seattle home. In his latest memoir, “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”, he reveals his very complicated relationship with his mother. It’s an incredibly personal story filled with raw, angry, funny, profane and tender memories of a childhood that is hard to imagine, much less survive. It’s hard to imagine anyone that can share a story more vividly.
