homelessness: busting myths, finding lasting solutions

September 13 at Noon
The Westin
1900 5th Ave

We see the problem every day -- people living on the streets of Seattle and King County, unsheltered -- but what can we do to solve it? Hear from Mark Putnam, director of All Home, and Adrienne Quinn, director of the King County Department of Community and Human Services, about why people are ending up on the streets, what has been done to address the problem, and where we go from here. The conversation will be moderated by Greg Hanscom, executive editor of Crosscut and KCTS 9 public television.

Seattle Rotary Service Foundation Opportunity Grants

The Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF) has announced a new pilot program called “Opportunity Grants”.  SRSF is trying to be responsive to the preferences of our member donors and the needs of our community, recognizing that sometimes our usual structure of annual grants does not make funds available when special opportunities, emergencies, and unique needs arise.
All applications must be received by SRSF by December 1, 2017.

Board Member Nominations

The nomination process to identify officers and at-large board members for the next year's Board of Directors, and Trustees for the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation is now underway.   We are seeking candidates with the experience and skill sets which will help the board achieve the goals identified in the strategic plan.
If you would like to be considered for a position on either board or would like to suggest a fellow club member, please forward this information, including a description of qualifications, to David Siebert, Chair of the Governance Committee at by September 15.
