FUN Community Service Projects

Save the date and submit your vendor application for this years' Shipwreck Fest!
Shipwreck Fest is one of the largest Flea Market Festivals in Washington State! With over 200 vendors, this event started over thirty-seven years ago when commercial fisherman sold their used gear as yard art on Commercial Ave. Since then, Shipwreck has grown into a massive flea market festival from garage sale vendors to local artists, to repurposed and antique vendors.  This is one of our biggest fundraisers that helps local community and international projects.  If you're interested in volunteering and getting involved with your Anacortes community, contact us at FIR.theFUNClub@gmail.com.

Have you ever wanted to volunteer with international projects abroad? Did you know Fidalgo Island Rotary is Award Winning in these types of humanitarian projects? Every year, we travel abroad with our network of Rotarians to help villages with clean water, educational supplies, and school structures. Our trips are safe, well organized and have a sense of purpose of doing good in the world. Last February, we delivered uniforms and school supplies to over 1700 kids in over 60 mountain village schools in Copán Honduras. Want to learn more or participate? It's as simple as donating $20 to sponsor one kid with school supplies for one year to traveling with us abroad to help deliver supplies.  Find more information at our Tuesday mornings breakfast club meetings or emailing us at FIR.theFunClub@gmail.com

On January 6th, a group of FIRbees congregated at Dr. Steve Miller's warehouse for a Medical Mission Packing Party. The packing day was for a medical mission to Guatemala March 9-17, 2018 — the seventh consecutive year going to the hospital in San Lucas Toliman on the shores of Lake Atitlan — where Dr. Steve and his team perform surgeries for children with clubfoot. If you interested in volunteering with local and international projects, come check us out and learn more every Tuesday morning, 7am, at the Anacortes Yacht Club or email us at FIR.theFunClub@gmail.com.

Fidalgo Island Rotary presents our annual dinner auction on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 5:30 pm located at the amazing Swinomish Casino & Lodge in Anacortes. This fundraiser benefits local and international projects funded by the Fidalgo Island Fun Club. This years' Raise the Paddle is dedicated to Hospice of the Northwest. This Mardi Gras themed auction is just before Fat Tuesday, so get your beads ready for some real fun and great food— don't forget to bring your favorite Mardi Gras mask!
Tickets are $75 each that includes drinks, dinner, and fun camaraderie! Sponsorships are still available for businesses looking to support an amazing non-profit that does so much in our local Anacortes community. For ticket info contact Val Tibbetts at 360.708.3702 or Kandy Dubuque at 360.770.2389.  You can also email us at FIR.theFunClub@gmail.com.
