Rotarian of the Year Named
By Sandra Hixson-Matthews
Denny Pierre announced that Brody Kunz is Rotarian of the year at the Installation Dinner for the incoming Board of Directors last week. Brody joined Maple Valley Rotary in 1995 and has served on the Board of Directors for 15 of his 18 years with the club, the last eleven consecutively. He has served as Sgt at Arms, Member at Large, Secretary for two terms, Foundation Chair for three terms, and International Chair for four terms (during which he was instrumental in getting matching grants from District 5030 and Rotary International that made large projects in Cameroon and Cambodia possible). Brody served as President Elect in 2002-03, President in 2003-04, Past President in 2004-05, and this past year he was Vice President. Brody is the go-to person when members or officers need information regarding Foundation, International service, grant writing, and a host of other important club and Rotary International workings. When I asked Brody if he had anything to say, he responded that it is a great honor. The consensus among the membership is that it is a well deserved honor. Congratulations Brody!
