Our speaker this Friday is Joan Tilton from the Arlington Rotary Club. Joan is visiting to tell us about Rotary's participation in a water project in Ndengelwa, Kenya. Our Rotary Club has donated funds for this project. Please come and hear how the combined efforts of Rotary clubs are improving the lives of people in Kenya.
Last Week to Bring in Food or $$
This is the last week to bring in food or money for the Helping Hands Food Bank Stuff the bus challenge.
Remember, in order to be crowned
Community Stuff a Bus Champions, we need you to bring canned food, non-perishables or $$$ to our Club meeting this Friday, Feb. 24.
The organization that brings in the most pounds in donations wins the crown. Every $1 = 25 pounds of food so either bring in really heavy food (think canned beans, vegetables, laundry soap, shampoo, etc.) or cash. The Community Champion receives lunch for 10 at Pacioni's in Mount Vernon. When we win all club members who donate food or money will be entered into a drawing for the lunch. Most importantly, the need for foodbank donations is especially important right now. Please consider donating. The food bank can also REALLY USE egg cartons and grocery bags of any type. Just bring them to any Friday meeting.
Luck of the Irish Fundraiser to Support YES Team in Honduras
It only happens once a year and that time is near! The YES teams Luck O' The Irish annual fundraiser to support their international project is Saturday, March 4th. The Luck O' The Irish is a fun evening playing a gambling game (bring $1 bills) and includes dinner catered by Shawn O'Donnell's and drinks. The money raised goes towards funding a school improvement project in Las Delicias, (near Copan Ruinas) Honduras.
