Dear Burlington Rotarians,

 

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president this past year. It was a personally challenging and rewarding year. My goal was for us to have fun while supporting our community, and I think we came pretty close!

 

In the past year our club has grown and thrived. We inducted 11 new members; had 10 social functions; two work parties; four service projects; formed a closer bond with the Interact club; had many great speakers (my personal favorite was children’s author Barney Saltzberg) and tried to get to know one another through Who Am I?

 

Even though we had technical challenges we learned there were advantages to virtual technology such as having speakers, James McCafferty, Co-Director of WWU's Center for Economic and Business Research, who was able to share valuable economic information that was relevant to our members. And we had members who could not join us in person but were regulars on Zoom including Erica Littlewood, Jerry Ellis, Michael White (and soon I can add myself to this list).

 

Best of luck to Karin and the 2023-2024 leadership team! The Club is in good hands with such an amazing team leading the way. With the help of all our club members Karin and the team will have a successful and productive year.
