edutainment
Aug. 12, 2022
Our presenter is a professional speaking coach and multimedia producer. She calls herself an ‘edutainer’ which means she infuses entertainment into her training to make it fun and memorable.
Through her company Showcase Your Shine with Rebecca P. Murray, she’s hired by corporate clients to work with high potential leaders helping them speak with confidence. Today she promises to teach us facilitation from both sides of the lectern. First, what we need to do if we are responsible for the meeting, and secondly, our responsibilities as a presenter. What we’ll learn today is a condensed version of a course she offers Western Washington University as part of her “Speak & Shine Academy Curriculum” offerings. alvin@undergroundministries.org Alex Sanchez is a local. He grew up in the valley, except for x number of years incarcerated—much of that time spent in solitary. Today, he's enrolled at Skagit, a loving husband and father, a supportive brother to many, and a professional reentry navigator at Underground Ministries. You should ask him how many folks are on his caseload.
Alvin is the Director of Operations for One Parish One Prisoner—activating and equipping teams across the State to do with one incarcerated friend what Alex does with 200, walking with them through incarceration, release, and new life in their community. |

Gangs and Drugs in our Community

Mike spent over 26 years in law enforcement working in Eastern Washington. In 2017 I was proud to have been offered the position as Chief of Police for the City of Burlington. Skagit Valley is where I was born and raised so this was an opportunity for me to come home. I have been married for 29 years and am quite proud of my 2 daughters, one a high school teacher and the other currently finishing her teaching degree. In my spare time I do what my wife tells me to do, I enjoy yard work, boating/crabbing, and have a passion for continual learning and change. |
