Kim Welling <KWelling@be.wednet.edu> Kim has worked for Burlington-Edison School District 29 years as Assistant Principal and elementary teacher at Lucille Umbarger School, and currently, as Student Support Services Administrator for the district. She serves as the Attendance, Engagement, and Truancy Specialist, Foster Care Liaison, Home Hospital Liaison, and McKinney-Vento Liaison for over 150 homeless students. Kim grew up a Coug, living in Pullman and graduating from WSU where she met Mike Welling, married, and moved to the valley where they raised two BEHS grads. She received her Masters degree from Gonzaga in Administration, Curriculum, and Instruction. Kim is a member and past President of Burlington Midday Rotary Club. Kim serves on the board of Family Promise of Skagit County. She recently published a book titled, Different Faces for elementary students about returning to school after the pandemic. Kim’s work with the Student Homeless Alliance began four years ago finding resources and grant funding to break down barriers for homeless students. |

Mount Vernon Farmers Market

Tia Entrikin joined the Mount Vernon Farmers Market in June of 2019. With a marketing degree from Western Washington University and a certificate in Event Planning she brings a variety of skills to the organization. Previously, Entrikin worked for the Everett Silvertips Hockey Club before leaving to be a stay at home mom to her four children. Food access and local agriculture are what drew her to the market and she continues to advocate on behalf of these programs. Outside of working Tia enjoys camping, crocheting, boating, and spending time with her husband Andrew and their 4 children. If you see her at the market on a Saturday be sure to say hi!

Jen leads three programs in alignment with United Way’s bold goal: by 2025 every child entering kindergarten is ready to learn. These programs include Welcome Baby, a hospital visitation program in partnership with Skagit Valley Hospital; We’re Reading, a literacy program in partnership with United General District 304 WIC; and as of July 1, the Diaper Bank of Skagit County. Jen has a Master’s in Education and several years of early learning teaching experience, most recently with Head Start in Bellingham. |

Tina Tate <tina@skagitfriendshiphouse.org> Tina Tate has served as the Executive Director of the Friendship House for 7 years. Before accepting the organization’s leadership position, Tina served as a community volunteer Board of Directors member for the homeless services organization for five years, two of which included service as Board President. She has enjoyed being an active member of Toastmasters International for 4 years and has recently achieved “Distinguished Toastmaster” status, the highest honor in the Toastmasters program. Tina is dedicated to the service of her community which is evident by service in many different organizations such as SWAN (Skagit Women’s Alliance and Network), SWIB (Skagit Women in business), service as a Hospital District 304 Commissioner as well as with the Celtic Arts Foundation. She has supported Leadership Skagit as a team Coach/Advisor and since her graduation from the program in 2015 and became the Class Facilitator for the class of 2021. Currently her very work is service to the most in need in the community as Friendship House is one of the largest Homeless service providers in Skagit County. |

She is proud to serve on the “Help Me Grow” Advisory Board to the Children’s Council. Debra has a BA and MA from the University of Washington and lives in Sedro-Woolley with her husband, Doug. |
