Opening
President Teri welcomed distinguished guests and members to the Centennial Celebration luncheon at the Leopold Hotel Crystal Ballroom, where we held our first Rotary meeting of the Rotary Club of Bellingham. Was it just this editor who heard Pres. Teri say the club was founded in September 2017?

We sang Oh Canada in honor of our special guest and speaker, District Governor Lindagene Coyle and a member of the Richmond Sunset Rotary Club.

Don Anderson and John Moffat lead us in singing two special Rotary songs from the original Rotary song book:  #7 Rotary, My Rotary (tune: O'Tannenbaum and #23 God Bless our Rotary (tune: America)

Presentations:
District Governor Coyle presented past member and honored guest Sheriff Bill Elfo with a Paul Harris Award for the work he does in the community.
Program:
Assistant District Governor Del VandeKerk welcomed our speaker, District Governor Lindagene Coyle.  The D.G. began by encouraging us to attend the five-day 2018 Rotary District 5050 conference on the MS Eurodam cruise ship.  It will cruise from Seattle to Victoria B.C., to Vancouver B.C. and back to Seattle, May 8-12, 2018.

She congratulated our club on achieving 100 years of making a difference.  She also came to share RI priorities, District 5050 priorities and to meet with our Board to hear from us.

She encouraged us to be more involved in Rotary leadership. She shared the District 5050 vision that Rotary clubs are recognized as the service clubs of choice in their communities.

The key area of focus and number one priority for Rotary is to increase membership and club growth.
D.G. Coyle shared upcoming District events and encouraged us to:
- read the monthly district newsletter, The Peace Arch Journal
- add our businesses to Networking Plus
- share our events and successes on the District FB page
- Attend the 2018 International Convention in Toronto 6/23-27/2018.
She also reminded us this is the 100th anniversary of Rotary Foundation.

Special Video:  Brian Griffin shared a video from a 1940 RCOB picnic.  We watched as an 8 year old Brian played in one of the many games they participated in that day at Birch Bay.

Members were asked to place .25c in the middle of their table for charitable donation as was done years ago and Joe Coons challenged everyone to add greatly to that donation.

We finished the luncheon by gathering for a group photo in the ballroom as they did 100 years ago.
