June 3, 2019

President Sandy opened the meeting with one of his entertaining “Rotary World” introductions, this week featuring Germany.  The first German Rotary club was founded in Hamburg in 1927 and is the site of this year’s Rotary International Convention.
In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landing in France in World War II, John Dunne performed our music introduction, by playing Taps on the trombone.  Doug Cole followed with a video presentation of the moving speech President Franklin Roosevelt delivered to the nation on that occasion.

Memorial Day Parade
President Sandy noted that our Club’s participation in the Memorial Day parade was successful.  About a dozen members walked the parade in spite of the rain and had a good time.  We should thank them for representing us in this fun community event.
Take a Vet to Lunch Presentation
Lisa Saar introduced Steve Robison, a retired 22- year Army veteran who is seeking employment.  Steve moved from Oregon to Bellingham recently.  His past experience includes small truck driving, the Army Military Police and the manufacturing industries. (Click Here for resume)
Rotary Cruise - June 17, 2019
Last Chance to sign up - President Sandy reminded us that the traditional Rotary cruise will be on June 17.  We are going to Vendovi Island, a beautiful place for hiking.  We are now taking names at a first come first serve basis.  Contact Marty Haines immediately if you are interested in joining us.
2019-2020 Planning:
Peter Theisen is the program chair for next year and is looking for help and ideas for programs and great speakers.

Shauna Naf briefly described the club app which allows what’s on the club website to be on your phone NOW. She outlined the steps to get set up and how to use it. Big news there will be tech help each week for those who need help.  Remember there will not be a printed Roster distributed as usual in July.
Shauna announced that Doug Cole and Del VandeKerk will be taking photos June 10th for any member that wants to update their picture for our roster.  Contact Sandee is you want to sign-up.
Time to update your personal information and photos in the Clubrunner Website.  You can Login yourself  on or give your information to Sandee and she will update it for you.  Instructions on how to login are on the home page of the website in the left column under Website Tutorials and other links will be added there as well.
Here is a tutorial on how to login for the first time.  (Click here)  In order to login you need to know your user name and password in your Clubrunner account.  The user name is Yourfirstname.Lastname.264 unless you have changed it.  Example: Sandra.Lindhout.264  The password is initially set by clubrunner at .264 or 264 (don’t recall now) unless you have changed it.  Sandee can see your Username from my computer but not the password.  She can also change your password for you from my computer at your request if you run into problems.
Once you have originally created your User Name and Password you can download the ClubRunner Mobile app on your phone:                                                                  iphones
