Rotary Youth Exchange
Our Club and Rotary District 5050 participates in the international Rotary Youth Exchange program, sending students out and hosting students all over the world. Rotary’s long-term exchange program, in operation for over 75 years, exchanges with more than 80 countries and over 8,000 students each year participate in the program.

The countries students can visit depend on the exchanges that are available in that country for that year. District 5050 has recently exchanged with:

Italy France Germany Belgium Austria Switzerland Poland Norway Sweden Denmark Iceland Finland Netherlands Croatia Mexico Brazil Argentina Peru Bolivia Taiwan Korea Japan

And more!

Students apply by September for the following school year exchange program. The year students leave on exchange they must be at least 15.5 years old and no older than 18.5 years old by September 1st.

What is special about the Rotary exchange program? The Rotary aspect! When students go on exchange, their whole Rotary Club is behind them, cheering them on, supporting them, and hosting. And then when they are abroad, the Host Club is just as welcoming and supportive. Host families are not compensated, which makes the Rotary Exchange option within reach, unlike many other exchange programs out there.

In addition to the long-term program, we also have a short-term program that is about 12 weeks during the summer in which two families exchange students with both students living in one location for half the time and then they moved to the other location.

Students do not need to be members of Rotary to be eligible for the Youth Exchange program.
