This year the Rotary Club of Calabasas was preparing to commemorate its 30th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors, when our community was suddenly struck by the Woolsey Fire. Many of our local families were affected. In its aftermath we learned that 3 residents tragically died, and well over 1,000 structures were lost.
So in partnership with the Sagebrush Cantina, Leonis Adobe Museum and others, the Rotary Club of Calabasas opened up its Thanksgiving event to include those impacted by the fire. There was a bit of scrambling to make sure we had enough food, and in the end we are proud to report sharing a full Thanksgiving meal with over 700 of our local senior citizens and community members.
