Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Stepenosky joined the Las Virgenes Unified School District in 2006 and served as Assistant Superintendent of Personnel until 2011. He was the District’s Deputy Superintendent from 2011-12 and was appointed Superintendent of Schools in 2012. The Rotary Club of Calabasas during the summer months of 2020 raised and donated cash and food items totaling $10,000 to support the LVUSD Meal Program, purchasing breads from our local restaurant, Sagebrush Cantina to also help this local business during the pandemic public restrictions.

Fire Station #125

Fire Captain Shiela Kellihar is with Fire Station #125 here in the Calabasas area. She will be addressing safety issues, community crime that involves emergency calls to the fire station and their day to day challenges. She will be visiting our club with her crew and they are available for any questions. She will also provide us with the local fire department community outreach contact. |

The Annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival is happening this year! This has been our annual fall festival where we meet, greet and celebrate with the community. You can not celebrate a fall festival without pumpkin pies! We will be selling 'pumpkin pies' whole and by the slice. Also, this year, we will be hosting the Beer & Wine Garden. Our featured brewery is 8one8 Brewing Co in Canoga Park. They will be offering a selection of beers, including a fall season brew! This is our fall fundraiser to help provide funds to support the needs in our local community. Come join us, have fun while volunteering for a wonderul cause. |

Lost Hills Sheriff Station

Deputy Mason De Matteo has been a Deputy since 2007. He was assigned to Lost Hills Station in 2012, and was appointed as a liaison to the City of Calabasas for the last 3 years, so he is in constant contact with City staff regarding notable incidents, crime trends, community problems, and coordinate with City staff for community events. He will be able to address community issues including homelessness.

There are over 70,000 Marines at Camp Pendleton! More than 160 babies are born there each month! There are 10,000 children under the age of five. Most families arrive with whatever they can fit in their car. With a very low income, most do not have all they need for newborns and small children. These families also have to furnish an apartment and set up a kitchen.
The Rotary clubs in Rotary District 5280 are collecting new and gently used baby, children's, and household items for these young families. They select what they need from contributions to the Warrior Warehouse.

The Rotary Club of Calabasas is proud to announce an art contest open to children in
grades Kindergarten – grade 5 at Lupin Hill Elementary School. The purpose of the
contest is to provide a safe, fun, and creative opportunity for elementary age students to
create original works of art that showcase their artistic skills while depicting appreciation
for first responders who serve the community during the pandemic. Artwork will be displayed
throughout the Calabasas community.
