We are asking that you arrive at 9:00 a.m. for a short briefing of the day’s activities which begin promptly at 10:00 A.M. We would love to have 20-25 Rotarian volunteers to assist us on each day of the Holiday Party. Rotarian duties will be to Seat, Serve, and Socialize with our students. Braille Institute is located at 741 N. Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles at the corner of Vermont and Melrose, with free underground parking off New Hampshire Street. Please RSVP to Rotarian, Jim Miceli by Monday, December 4, 2017 regarding your club’s interest in joining us for our Student Holiday Party, by calling Jim at 818-763-5693, or by sending an email to JimMiceli@aol.com. We appreciate your continued support of Braille Institute. The donations you have provided through the years have greatly benefited our organization, and we hope you will find it in your hearts to continue this support. We look forward to seeing you soon. It’s the Holiday Season … so allow me to be the first to say…Happy Holidays from Braille Institute! |

Rotary’s Pageant of the Arts provides high school students the opportunity to display their talents and compete with other students for recognition and monetary prizes. Students gain valuable experience as well as exposure to University Deans and professors.
Rotary Clubs have an opportunity to connect with the community through public and private schools, churches, performing arts and art studios, YMCA, YWCA, theater groups, community centers and groups and retail centers; just a few suggestions for outreach and expanding your club’s public relations.

May 12, 2018 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
District 5280 will be working with our neighbors to the north, District 5240, planting trees in the areas recently devastated in the Thomas Fire. The project is a creek restoration project, where the waters from the Thomas Fire burn area washed out most of the creek. This, along with the freeway construction, has left little or no vegetation in the creek bed.
Rotarians will meet at 9:00am at Gran Vida Retirement Community located at 5464 Carpinteria Avenue, Carpinteria, CA 93013. There will be 40-50 trees to plant. Please bring shovels, gloves and buckets to plant.
We will be including a pizza lunch afterwards, thanks to Rotarian Husam Hishmeh of Dominos at 12:00pm.
There is a possibility that we will have a second tree planting location in Montecito, but that is still tentative.
If you are interested in planting trees or have any questions, please contact Wade Nomura at WadeDG1112@verizon.net
