District 5280 will be working with our neighbors to the north, District 5240, planting trees in the areas recently devastated in the Thomas Fire.

The project is a creek restoration project, where the waters from the Thomas Fire burn area washed out most of the creek. This, along with the freeway construction, has left little or no vegetation in the creek bed.
Rotarians will meet at 9:00am at Gran Vida Retirement Community located at 5464 Carpinteria Avenue, Carpinteria, CA 93013. There will be 40-50 trees to plant. Please bring shovels, gloves and buckets to plant.
We will be including a pizza lunch afterwards, thanks to Rotarian Husam Hishmeh of Dominos at 12:00pm.
There is a possibility that we will have a second tree planting location in Montecito, but that is still tentative.
If you are interested in planting trees or have any questions, please contact Wade Nomura at WadeDG1112@verizon.net
