The Rotary Club of Bishop received Snack Shack help from a Jr. Interact Club student, Ruby Wellen,  all the way from South Pasadena Middle School.

The Rotary Club of Bishop had their Snack Shack at the Bishop Park during Mule Days and it was definitely one of the busiest times they have had in the park.

Ruby Wellen, a Jr. Interact Club member from South Pasadena Middle School volunteered to help work in the Snack Shack Saturday, May 29th.  She worked with her grandparents, Ed and Pat Nahin, who quickly taught her how to run the register and put her to work.  The Bishop noon Rotary club got help from many sources:  friends of members, Bishop High School students and of course club members.  At the Rotary Club noon meeting Tuesday, President Kay O'Brien thanked everyone for their hard work in the snack shack.  She said the club had great success in earning monies which will go into the scholarship fund.

Jr. Interact Clubs and High School Interact clubs encourage their students to participate in community service not only in their communities but in cities throughout the United States and the World.  Ruby Wellen, age 11 , saw how some fabulous professional people in the club were eager to serve the community working fixing up hot dogs, cheese nachos, corn dogs, serving drinks and cleaning up the shack  as they are willing to work to give funds to various charities.
