The Rotary Club of Bishop again provided and served desserts May 22nd, 2012 at The California Scholarship Federation Recognition and Awards Program for Bishop Union High School.

Once a year, the Bishop Union High School Chapter of the California Scholarship Federation recognizes those students who have excelled academically.  This year, Chapter 118 honored 38 seniors, 20 of whom are Seal Bearers and recognized 26 juniors, 29 sophomores and 27 freshmen.  CSF President Natalie Gonzalez welcomed everyone attending and introduced speakers and people giving out the awards.  The Guest Speaker was Jeff Griffiths, a Rotarian, who also helped serve the dessert with the Rotary Club.

Rotarians who helped serve dessert were:  Mike Gable, Dave and Ellen Laverty, Brad Mettam, Ed and Pat Nahin, Karen O’Brien, Leo Pisculli, Jeff Griffiths and helping the club, Jeff O’Brien.

One of the objects of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service to the community.  The Club meets every Tuesday at noon, with the second Tuesday in the month meeting at 5:30 pm at Whiskey Creek Restaurant.  Guests are welcome, lunch and evening refreshments are $15.00.
