Ted Schade, President, of the Rotary Foundation said that approximately $1200.00 was given to the Bishop airport for the beacon restoration.  August 5th,  members of the Bishop Rotary Foundation along with staff members at the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport stood by and watched the newly refurbished beacon hoisted to its perch.  Staff at the airport took the 860 plus pound beacon off of its tower June 17th to polish the glass and repair aging parts, throwing on a fresh coat of paint in the process.  The light went back onto its 65 foot tall perch Thursday, and, hopefully, will be there for another 70 years.  The Bishop Rotary Foundation members attending were:  Dave Patterson, Ted Schade, Kathleen Sheehan, Phil McDowell, Ed Nahin and Pat Nahin from the Rotary Club of Bishop.
