Rotary Club of Bishop gives out Scholarships

Representing The Rotary Club of Bishop, on June 8th Dr. Leo Pisculli presented scholarships from the service organization to graduating seniors as they move forward to their next educational endeavors.

With funds from The Rotary Club of Bishop and the Bishop Rotary Foundation $17,000 was awarded to outstanding students.  Scholarships were presented for the following:

Rotary Academic Scholarships Awards for $1000.00 each went to Laura Stickells, Bradley Hooker, Benjamin Ono, Trevor Taylor, Aaron Daniel Puls, and Shayna Citrenbaum.  $1000.00 for each year of 4 years went to Ariel Willey.  $500.00 was given to Kristen Erica Howell and Jonathan Barbieri.

Vocational Achievement Awards of $1000.00 each went to Carly Huntsinger, Niki Inafuku, Amanda Stryffeler, Melissa Robledo and Daniel Johnson.  $1500.00 was awarded Jesus Beltran-Robledo. 

Scholarships awarded to graduating students from Lone Pine High School were $250.00 each to Nicole R. Tweedy and Kara L. Valdon.   These awards were given out by The Lone Pine High School staff at the Lone Pine High School awards event.

As one of the many programs Rotary provides for community service, raising money for scholarships is an honor for Rotarians and they are proud to be able to help these outstanding students in their quest for furthering their education.
