ImageRev. Diane Mettam became an honorary member of The Rotary Club of Bishop several months ago and December 4th was officially inducted into the club as an active member.  Diane has been more than generous in giving her time plus talents for raising money for the many charitable programs in Rotary.  Rev. Mettam is a Methodist Minister who attended Mills College, and the Claremont School of Theology.

Rev. Diane has lived in Bishop for 20 years with her husband, Brad Mettam, Director of Planning, Cal Trans.  She has two children, a son, David, Helitack Superintendent/Forest Aviation Officer for the US Forest Service and daughter, Joy, teacher and adjunct professor in Louisiana.

President Mike Gable feels Rev. Diane’s past experience in Service Organizations and her enthusiasm for serving in charitable organizations will be a wonderful asset to the club.  He said Brad Mettam, past President, of the Rotary club, and Rev. Diane make a perfect team for the many service programs they already work on.

When asked what else might be interesting about her, Rev. Diane replied that she was a champion on Jeopardy in 2005, an extra in “Maverick” in 1994, taught ballet before her knees blew out, she is bilingual in English/Spanish, she has two great service dogs, Jake and Charlie and her great-grandfather was an active Rotarian in Illinois for many years!
