Classification Talk: Rob Toyer

Our Club was privileged to learn more about the life of our Rotary Club member, Rob Toyer, as he generously shared this background during his classification talk.

Born and raised in the Marysville area, but a graduate of the Lake Stevens School District, Rob has lived in north Snohomish County for most of his life. Rob did embark on a courageous journey as he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the early 2000s, while actually being in bootcamp during 9/11. Rob served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Following his military tenure, Rob embarked on a notable trajectory of public service, first running for the Marysville City Council in 2011 and subsequently serving from 2012 to 2019. Demonstrating his dedication to public service, Rob was recently elected to the Arlington City Council in January 2024, marking a new chapter in his commitment to the community.

Beyond his public service endeavors, Rob is a self-employed financial advisor, fulfilling his dream of being his own boss and serving others since 2010. The founder of Toyer Tax, a comprehensive financial services firm, Rob specializes in tax preparation, investment management, insurance, and home loans. His dedication to financial service aligns seamlessly with his commitment to community welfare.

On a personal note, Rob's family plays a central role in his life. Married to Laurie, the couple recently purchased a home on 5th Street, expressing their love for downtown living and community engagement. Together, they are parents to three children and share a passion for family activities, spending quality time together, and enjoying summer days by the river.

Rob's journey, marked by military service, a chronology of city council service, and a successful career in financial advisory, reflects a dedication to community and service. His recent election to the Arlington City Council solidifies his commitment to shaping a positive future for the community he calls home. We extend our sincere gratitude to Rob for sharing his story, and we anticipate the continued positive impact he will undoubtedly bring to our Rotary Club and the Arlington community.
