Allie Cochran- 12th Grader Darrington High School

Ava Pater- 8th Grader Darrington Middle School

 

Ava, an 8th grader at Darrington Middle School, is celebrated as one of Arlington Rotary's Outstanding Students for her exceptional commitment to academic excellence, sportsmanship, leadership, and peer mentorship. Nominated by Melissa Cumming, Ava's determination to maintain excellent grades despite challenges, coupled with her leadership on and off the field, distinguishes her as a standout student. Actively participating in varsity sports in volleyball, basketball, and softball, Ava balances her athletic responsibilities with her academic workload with remarkable skill. She serves as a role model among her peers, offering support and encouragement to younger students in the middle school. Ava's choice to donate to the Military Warriors Support Foundation reflects her compassion and dedication to supporting those who have served their country.

 

Rose Schmidt- 12th Grader at Weston High School

 

Rose, a senior at Weston High School, has been nominated by the staff at Weston for exemplifying exceptional kindness, compassion, and dedication to academic excellence. Always engaged in class discussions, Rose not only demonstrates a keen intellect but also fosters inclusivity by encouraging her peers to share their thoughts. Her genuine concern for others is evident in her consistent support and assistance to fellow students, fostering a sense of community and cooperation. Bayleigh Ivester- 11th Grade at Arlington High School

 

Bayleigh, an 11th grader at Arlington High School, has been nominated for the Rotary Outstanding Student Award by her teacher, Greg Hurst. Bayleigh's exceptional work ethic and positive attitude make her a standout student deserving of recognition. While her academic performance is commendable, it's her ability to brighten any room with her positivity that truly sets her apart. Aiden McCurdy- 6th Grader at Stillaguamish Valley Learning Center

 

Aidan, a 6th grader at Stillaguamish Valley Learning Center, has been nominated by the SVLC Middle School Team for his outstanding dedication to learning and leadership qualities. Aidan's academic achievements have been consistently exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is his insatiable curiosity and passion for knowledge. His positive attitude is infectious, approaching every challenge with enthusiasm and inspiring his peers to do the same. Aidan's leadership skills shine through as he willingly assists his classmates and takes initiative in group activities, serving as a guiding light for his peers. His commitment to academic excellence, coupled with his positive attitude and leadership, makes him a valuable asset to the school community. For his charitable donation, Aidan has chosen the Forgotten Kingdom Animal Shelter, showcasing his compassion and desire to make a difference in the lives of others, both human and animal alike. 

 

Koryn Whitney- Student at Post Middle School

 

Koryn was nominated for the Outstanding Student Award for his remarkable charisma, respect, kindness, and honesty. Every day, Koryn greets others with a warm 'good morning' and wishes them well, embodying positivity and kindness. His infectious smile and constant pursuit of goals, all while maintaining straight A's, reflect his dedication and humility. Whether engaging in chess matches or sharing his love for reading during lunch, Koryn's eagerness to learn and excel shines through. Described as a model citizen and student by his teachers, Koryn is known for his willingness to help others and his independent pursuit of knowledge. He is kindhearted, encouraging, and strives for excellence in everything he does. For his charitable donation, Koryn has chosen Save the Children, demonstrating his compassion and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. 

 

Lyla Morzelewski- 8th Grader at Haller Middle School

 

Lyla, an 8th grader at Haller Middle School, has been nominated for the Outstanding Student Award by Brooke Howell for her exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, and genuine kindness towards others. Lyla maintains an impressive GPA and demonstrates drive, motivation, and reflection in all her endeavors. Actively involved in her school, she serves as an ASB leader, participates in multiple sports throughout the year, and is a leader in Haller's Fellowship of Christian Athletes club. Beyond her academic and extracurricular achievements, Lyla's compassionate nature shines through as she consistently lifts others up, encourages those in need, and brightens every room she enters. Leila Plantilla- Lakewood Middle School

 

Leila, a 7th grader at Lakewood Middle School, has been nominated for the Outstanding Student Award by Amanda Cote for her exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to inclusivity. Leila is not only a leader in the classroom but also actively works to include students in student government and other activities, demonstrating her commitment to fostering a sense of belonging for all. Praised by multiple staff members, Leila's impact on campus shines through her kindness and exceptional leadership. She consistently supports her classmates, uplifts those around her, and fosters a culture of inclusivity and support. As the ASB Vice-President, Leila has grown in confidence and actively seeks the advice and opinions of her peers to ensure their voices are heard. Leonardo Sandoval- Student at Lakewood High School

 

Leo, a senior at Lakewood High School, embodies excellence in academics, athletics, and music. As the President of the school's DECA club, a two-sport varsity athlete, and a recipient of numerous music awards, Leo's achievements are truly remarkable. Over his four years at LHS, Leo has dedicated himself to honing his musical talents, excelling as a vocalist, bass player, trumpeter, and French horn player. His leadership in the music program is exemplary, earning him solo awards at every jazz festival attended, a record for the LHS Music program. In 2023, Leo's exceptional talent was recognized on a national level when he was awarded the prestigious Dee Daniel's Vocal Jazz Scholarship by professional jazz musicians. Beyond his musical prowess, Leo is described as a wonderful, motivated, hardworking, and kind young man by his peers and teachers alike. His music teacher, Katy Trapp, describes Leo as one of the most talented musicians she has encountered in her 16 years of teaching, highlighting his kindness, thoughtfulness, and self-discipline.
