The Arlington Rotary Foundation (ARF) was established in 2014 following the slide disaster that occurred along SR 530 that took the lives of 43 people.  It is an avenue for tax deductible giving for the charitable activities of our Rotary club .

Almost all service clubs are free from income tax obligations under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.  However, contributions to such an organization are not eligible for a charitable deduction by the donor.  The Arlington Rotary Foundation is recognized by the I.R.S. as a charitable foundation under code section 501(c)(3).

At the first meeting of each Rotary year that begins in July, the club's Board of Directors elects 5 persons to serve as directors of ARF.  The treasurer of the Rotary Club is an ex officio member of the board. The current directors of ARF are:  Duane Rhodes--President, Cindy Huleatt--Vice President & Treasurer, Dave Duskin--Secretary, Linda Byrnes and Bob Campbell--Directors.

ARF should not be mistaken for the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.  Our club has a Rotary Foundation Committee with an elected Director to chair that committee.

Before creating our own foundation, our club, with donations from others, created a scholarship fund with a community foundation. In 2026, the funds were transferred from the Community Foundation of Snohomish County to ARF.  See the tab for the Chet Williams Endowed Scholarship Fund.

There is a scholarship committee that screens scholarship applications and makes recommendations to the club's board of directors.  If you would like to make a tax-deductible charitable gift to our scholarship fund, your donation should be paid to the Arlington Rotary Foundation

The slide relief fund has been closed and we would recommend that you make any donations to either the Arlington Community Resource Center or the North County (Darrington) Resource Center.  Here are links:  Arlington or Darrington.

In addition to the scholarships, there are charitable accounts for Youth Engaged in Service, the Arlington Community Food Bank, A Christmas Wish, and the Pump Track at Jensen Park.

Donations for any of these projects should be made payable to the Arlington Rotary Foundation and sent to P.O Box 3592, Arlington, WA. 98223.   All applications for funds should be directed to the Arlington Rotary Club at the same address.  There is a community funding application that can be accessed by clicking the tab near the top of the home page.
