January 25th Program

Grant Cramer- 12^th grade, Arlington High School

 

Grant was nominated by Mr. Hunter, who had phenomenal things to say about Grant, both as a student and a standout athlete at Arlington High School. Grant's dedication to his academic career was clear to our Club, as Grant was unable to attend our presentation due to having a final scheduled at the same time. Our Club was pleased to present the award to Grant's mom on his behalf. We were able to watch a short video of Grant where he had the opportunity to share with our Club his community involvement and future educational and professional plans. In that video we learned that Grant will be making a donation to the Todd Evans Scholarship Funds. This scholarship fund helps local students achieve dreams of higher education, which is something Grant cares deeply for. We wish him the best of luck on those finals! 

Kyler Severson- 8^th Grade, Haller Middle School

 

“Kyler always has such a positive attitude in everything he does. He is always willing to do whatever is needed around the school to make Haller a better place. Along with all of that, he has the best school spirit in the 8th grade. Kyler consistently works toward being a positive participant in all areas of his life: in classes, during Character Strong, in the hallways, and during after school athletics and activities. Kyler Severson is a confident, strong leader who sets a great example for his peers. He treats all of his classmates with respect, and he works hard to make sure everyone feels included.” Kyler selected Salt of the Earth Food Blessing as his charity of choice, as he stands by their mission to provide nutritious food to those in need. 

Chase Koenigs- 8th grade, Post Middle School

 

“Chase has maintained a 4.0GPA every semester in all classes since 6th grade at Post Middle School. He is an exceptional responsible student at and away from school who takes ownership of his work, taking any assignment that allows for creativity to the next level with brilliant ideas. He has a hunger to learn and makes students around him better. He is part of the school jazz band, cross country and track teams. On the side, he also is a competitive swimmer. Chase won every race for Post Middle School, including the league championship. He now holds seven of the school records and the school district record for boys 1.7 mile cross country and qualified to compete at the US Championships in XC and track. Overall, Chase is a pleasant young man who exudes what we want all of our students to be in a humble and kind manner.” Chase selected the Alutiiq Museum for his donation, as the museum protects important historical artifacts and traditions of the Kodiak Archipelago region. 

Vivien Palmer- 8^th grade, Stillaguamish Valley Learning Center

 

“Vivien is unequivocally deserving of the Outstanding Student Award due to her exceptional commitment to academic excellence. Vivien is consistently demonstrating an exemplary work ethic. She not only maintains an impressive academic record but has also actively sought opportunities for intellectual growth and contributes richly to class discussions. Beyond the academic realm, Vivien is an accomplished ballerina and balances the importance of her education and her passion for ballet. Her ability to inspire and uplift peers, coupled with her remarkable achievements, makes her a standout candidate for the Outstanding Student Award.” Vivien selected the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Pointe Shoe Fund for her donation. As an accomplished ballerina, Vivian knows the financial strain placed on the performers to have proper equipment for the masterful shows they produce. the Shoe Fund helps ballerinas afford the cost of replacing old pointe shoes.

Rachael Tanner- 12^th Grade, Weston High School

 

"As a graduating senior, Rachael has left an indelible mark on our school community through her multifaceted contributions. As a member of the Arlington Student Advisory Council and Weston ASB President, she exemplifies the qualities of a true leader. Rachael's advocacy for the student body has been unwavering, as she fearlessly champions the rights and concerns of her fellow students, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Beyond her leadership roles, Rachael's artistic ability has added a vibrant and creative dimension to the school environment, showcasing her talent and passion. Her commitment to contributing to the school culture has created a positive and inclusive atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among students. Rachael is deserving of this recognition because of her positive impact on her peers and the broader school community." Rachel chose the Arlington Arts Council for her donation, as she is an artist herself and enjoys seeing the art installations throughout the City of Arlington. 

Kiana Schroeder- 12^th grade, Lakewood High School

 

“Kiana Schroeder is by all accounts, an exceptional student. She is extremely involved at Lakewood High School, serving as the ASB president, representative to the school board, captain of the golf team, and is a member of LHS’s Swingbeat jazz choir, Unified Basketball team, National Honor Society, Cougar Crew and drama club. She is dedicated to all of these endeavors while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. More importantly than all her impressive accomplishments and academic success, Kiana is wholeheartedly committed to spreading kindness and creating a school culture that is inclusive and welcoming. Lakewood High School is a better place because of Kiana’s leadership and dedication.” Kiana selected the Lakewood Education Foundation due to her continued commitment to the Lakewood School District. 

Ava Williamson- 8th grade, Lakewood Middle School

 

“Ava is one of our Co-Editors-in-Chief for the yearbook. She pushed herself to develop group management skills by running icebreakers and team bonding exercises every week. I have also been impressed by her work ethic, integrity, and willingness to do figure out original ways to make the published book turn out great. She is an innovative thinker with a high bar of achievement, and she's self-motivated and curious to see what she can come up with. She is also a patient and thoughtful guide to her peers as they work through glitches in the design software, Wi-Fi limitations, and creative blocks. She has the ability to envision a finished product and then break it into chunks, and she knows that just because something has been finished, doesn't mean it is the best it can be. In short, she has that magical alchemy of artistic, interpersonal, and practical traits that fuse together to make someone not just a creative person, but a creator; the kind of person who can communicate a vision and bring others together to make that vision a reality.” While Ava has high hopes of helping people from across the globe, Ave has selected Doctors Without Borders for her donation so she can start to make an impact now. 

Emily Grace Ross- 11^th Grade, Darrington High School

 

“Gracie Ross is being nominated for being an outstanding college bound student. Gracie is an extraordinary example of academic excellence and leadership roles. She is able to balance her remarkable grades with an impressive array of extracurricular responsibilities. As a three-sport athlete in volleyball, cheerleading, and softball, she not only excels on the court but also brings the same level of dedication to her role as FCCLA President. Simultaneously serving as the Junior Class President, Drama Club Treasurer, ASB Treasurer, and being a part of Honor Society. Gracie is also a very committed positive role model to her peers who deserves the recognition of being an outstanding student.” Gracie selected the NOAH Center for her donation as she stands against euthanizing healthy pets.

Abrah Welborn- 8^th grade, Darrington Middle School

 

Unfortunately Abrah was unable to join us due to an illness, but we were still able to hear wonderful things she is doing in her school and around the community. “Abrah is being nominated as an outstanding student for consistently achieving remarkable grades while also embodying kindness, leadership, creativity, and excellent attendance. Abrah consistently maintains grades at the top of her class and strives to complete high-quality work that always demonstrates the best of her abilities. Her actions on a daily basis show care and consideration toward her peers. Additionally, Abrah's leadership qualities shine in her position as class secretary and willingness to take on projects that will benefit her class. Abrah has an amazing artistic skill set that she puts to use in her practice of photography and art projects at school. Abrah is a positive role model among her peers and deserves to be recognized as an outstanding student.”
