The Arlington Rotary Foundation (ARF) was established in 2014 following the slide disaster that occurred along SR 530 that took the lives of 43 people.  It is an avenue for tax deductible giving for the charitable activities of our Rotary club .

Most all service clubs are free from income tax obligations under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.  However, contributions to such an organization are not eligible for a deduction by the donor as a charitable gift.  The Arlington Rotary Foundation is recognized by the I.R.S. as a charitable foundation under code section 501(c)(3).

At the first meeting of each Rotary year that begins in July, the Board of Directors of the club elect 5 persons to serve as directors of ARF.  The current directors of ARF are:  Duane Rhodes--President, Linda Byrnes--Vice President, Cindy Huleatt--Treasurer, Dave Duskin--Secretary, and Bob Campbell--Director.

ARF should not be mistaken for the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.  Our club has a Rotary Foundation Committee with an elected Director to chair that committee.

Before creating our own foundation, our club created a scholarship fund with the Community Foundation of Snohomish County.  There is a scholarship committee that screens scholarship applications and makes recommendations to the club's board of directors.  If you would like to make a tax deductible charitable gift to our scholarship fund, click here.

The slide relief fund has been closed and we would recommend that you make any donations to either the Arlington Community Resource Center or the North County (Darrington) Resource Center.  Here are links:  Arlington or Darrington.

Current projects of the Arlington Rotary Club for which there are charitable accounts at ARF include Haller Park Splash Pad Project, food bank, Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the Stillaguamish Valley Youth Initiative to expand the Arlington Boys and Girls Club and Little League Fields.

Donations for any of these projects should be made payable to the Arlington Rotary Foundation and sent to P.O Box 3592, Arlington, WA. 98223.   All applications for funds should be directed to the Arlington Rotary Club at the same address.  There is an application for funds that can be access by clicking on the tab near the top of the home page.
