As provided for in our bylaws, an annual membership meeting will be held to elect officers for the Rotary year staring July 1, 2018. Last year we elected Paul as our President for 2018-19, so the officers to elect will be a new President Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Typically the annual meeting is recessed to a date in January to elect our 6 directors. Past President Erik is heading a nominating committee of our past presidents. |

John and Kimberly Meno are chairing the committee for the passage of the bond measure to replace Past Middle School and do security upgrades at every school. A new tactic to remind voters to send in their ballots is "Flash Texting", We will take over the party room at The Point Bar & Grill for some finger food and drink and text our friends and known supporters. Our club purchased a 40' container to use for storage. It needs to be modified to cut down on moisture damage to things stored there, shelves put together, and lights need to be added. Two dehumidifiers will be installed in the unit. The trailer containing our train is also stored in the same yard where are container is located. We will get it out and test drive it some more around the airport to make sure the wheels will not collapse. We need bodies to ride the train. The storage yard is accessed through a gate on the south end of the Arlington Community Food Bank parking lot, lying east of the City of Arlington's maintenance shop. |

25 years ago, the Rotary Club of North Snohomish County, now the Rotary Club of Arlington, set out to establish a Rotary Club in the neighboring community of Stanwood. Ron Love, a member of our club who had a Stanwood address and whose children attended Stanwood schools, headed up the effort. Now is a chance to celebrate 25 years of Rotary in our neighboring community. Let's show them, as the parent club, how to celebrate. There is a limitation of 100 guests so respond early by sending an email to Julie Vess telling her you are coming: j.vess@stanwoodseniorcenter.org. Ron will be speaking, but don't let that deter you! |
