I have confirmed our Chief Librarian Surinder Bhogal and Gayle Harris (who delivers the Give a Kid a Muffin program) can both attend on Tuesday, Nov 14th from 6:50 to 7:30 pm at the City Centre Library.
We are looking forward to hosting you and the other Club members then and recognizing the support of Rotary Club of Surrey.
We can all meet at the coffee shop on the first floor, that is a good central place, and then head up to the third floor where we will take the photo.
We will have a large mock cheque prepared to be featured in the photo. |

Deeply committed to the community she lives in, and a resident of the area for over 34 years Rebecca has always believed in service, standing up, speaking up, and participating. A past president and founding member of BullyFree BC, she is a passionate advocate for social justice, education, health care and mental health in British Columbia. She currently sits on the Board of the Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce and is the past Chair of the non-partisan organization Canadian Women Voters Congress, which encourages, educates and promotes political literacy for women in Canada.
No doubt you will have seen Rebecca out and about in the community, networking, promoting Surrey Hospice Society, their two stores, and fighting for local issues. She is proud of her flourishing bee and butterfly garden, as well as her fruit and vegetable patch that helps provide seasonal food to those who need it. |

WHAT IS STARFISH? The Starfish Backpack Program is a weekend Food literacy and availability program created in response to teachers hearing the cry of their students. Too many children were coming to class Monday morning hungry, reporting they had not eaten over the weekend. HOW IT WORKS: 100% Staffed by volunteers that pack 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, healthy snacks and fruit into each backpack each weekend, throughout the school year. The backpacks full of food are delivered to Elementary Schools once per week. |
