Come out and join us for an evening of fun and entertainment with proceeds to provide lunch for children who go without.

The backpacks  delivered weekly to the school, contain 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, healthy snacks and fruit for the weekend.   It is intended for one child but often shared by the whole family.    Teachers have reported improvements in children's reading skills, math skills, ability to focus and do cooperative work.    We are currently filling 15 backpacks and have plans to increase this as well as expand to another school.

The Starfish Program in Surrey is a partnership of 4 local Rotary Clubs, The food Action Coalition (Seeds of Change Surrey), Sources Community Resource Centers, City of Surrey, Surrey School District, Salvation Army and others.

Members of our club spent the day, June 11th building a new playground at North Boliver Park.  The weather didn't play nice but the rest of us did.

On Saturday July 12th members of the Rotary Club of Surrey Guildford partnered with Kaboom and the Foresters to build a new playground for the students at Hjorth Road Elementary School.  It was a hot day but everyone had a great time.  The smiles on the children who will be playing here makes it all worth while.
