Charlene spoke about our Rotary association with the Manor. It started in 2001 and since then we have donated almost $200,000 ($198,000) to projects the Manor wanted to institute. Most recently the Music Memory Project , shower chairs, IT equipment  and the Ice Machines and the new Leisure Room. They love our monthly Pie Days and the twice a month reading days. We also have supplied funds to build 2 different “Comfort Rooms” as palliative spaces where families can spend time with their dying relatives.

The ERH Foundation is chairing the push to finalize financing for the Eagle Ridge Hospital expansion. Their major fundraisers are the

“Wheel-to-Heal” this year with 156 riders raised $156,000.00. Upcoming events are the Charity Golf Classic coming up in July and on September 29th their “Evening of Caring Gala”. Their new branding is built around their new slogan “Legendary Care—We Deserve It”

The Tri-Cities has 235,000 residents and each year 1 in 2 residents are touched by the Hospital. The expansion will focus on:

  1. A much expanded Emergency Room. They currently handle 52,000 patients each year in emerge and they expect it will rise to 60,000 by 2030. The expansion will include going from 19 treatment spaces to 39 and will include separate entrance for the ambulance intakes and more privacy in the rooms.
  2. A dedicated space to handle the cardiac care the Tri-Cities requires. They are currently working out of space that has been carved out of other departmental space. They currently have 3 cardiologists and will go up to 4. Should know all of the cardiologists are from Royal Columbia Hospital and share time with our hospital so we are getting first class care but it will be improved and expanded once the expansion happens.

The Foundation has been tasked with raising 5 million of the 27.6 million required to complete the expansion.

A big thank you to Eagle Ridge Manor for being such welcoming hosts to their facility!!
