Khayanga Wasike - Kenya - We only have one more meeting with Khayanga and then she returns to Kenya.  She has such a beautiful spirit.

President Mike presented Dan Gallant with a new attendance bar for his name badge—37 years of 100% attendance. Way to go Dan!

Rotary RIPS 9 am Saturday October 14th. Tree Planting 10 am Saturday October 21st.

Special meeting for us—District Governor, Lindagene Coyle, was our guest speaker. Our 5050 district has 57 clubs and she will meet with all of them in her year as D/G. Port Moody Rotary Club was 1 of only a few in the District to receive the Presidential Citation this year.

Rotary International President 2017/18 is Ian Riseley and his Theme is “Rotary Making a Difference” which is what we really do as Rotarians. President sets his priorities for the year—Tree Planting is one of his initiatives for this year.

District Vision is revisited every 5 years —to be THE Service Club of choice in our community. Clubs to work collaboratively within the District; Club membership growth is #1 priority; Support the Foundation; Leadership development and training; Youth programs; public image; and be sure Rotary brand is a consistent message.

Vision to Plan September 30th, Grants seminar, Rotary Learning Institute March 10th 2018, District Training Day April 7th 2018.

Communication tools—Read monthly Peace Arch Journal, go to the website, have a “my Rotary” account to access info at Rotary.org, post on Rotary District 50/50 Facebook account, post your business on networking plus—where possible do business with Rotarians. 

District Conference May 8-12 2018. Cruise from Seattle to Victoria/Vancouver and back. Fun, Fellowship, and Family

President’s Peace Building Conference February 9-11 2018.

2018 International Convention will be in Toronto June 23-27.
