Shred-A-Thon

Thank you to all who came to the Well for our Shred-a-Thon meeting.  

The Rotary Club of Port Moody is once again having Shred-A-Thon.  This is always a great community service and we need lots of volunteers to make it work.

Please let me know if you will be available on Saturday June 4th, 2022 from 9-3 pm.  Thank you to those who have already signed up.

We have lots of different opportunities for you to volunteer.

We will have 2 shifts and if you would like to work the whole day that is great.

1.  8:30 - 12:30 

2.  12:15 - 3:30

We will have coffee/water & Timbits for morning people & we will order pizza for the afternoon. After we are done, we will meet at the Well to tell our stories and re-cap the day.  

Please let me know when you will be able to come.

Peter has help to pick up everything from the lock-up but will need help setting up tents, vests, table, banner, rope to hang banner, cones, 2 buckets etc and taking them down.

Bill & Jim will be doing the breaking down of boxes and collecting the plastic and will need help with that....We need to carry the cardboard to  the container back of City Hall.

Paul and Mike will be the 'directors' of the traffic and we will all make sure we don't start unloading the cars/trucks until they are at the front of the line.

Peter & Gayle will be collecting donations all day 

Trish will be taking care of the donations and the square.  If anyone else would like to help in that area, please let us know.

Mike is making a sign on one of the sandwich boards he has with LIBRARY and an arrow, so people will know which line to go in for the Library. [thank you]

We need volunteers with strong backs to unload the boxes from residents cars/trucks and dump into bins and then wheel to the Shredding truck to be shredded.  This is a fun job and fast paced.  Residents do not need to get out of their vehicles.

We will get a rhythm going but that is the idea.

This is a fun event that brings us together with the community and we make some money doing it.  Thank you to everyone who is going to volunteer.  We need lots of bodies, so people get breaks.  

We thank everyone for coming to support us and the residents love that we are doing this.

Thank you so much for your help.  Only 2 weeks away.  JUNE  4TH.  Please make sure you tell everyone.....we want to 'fill those trucks'
