Building World Peace Through Art

Local photographic artist Farah Janjua is originally from Pakistan, having pursued photography since 1992. Subjects that inspire Farah’s keen eye include the reality of nature’s landscapes, varied emotions expressed in people’s faces, as well as intricate social and humanitarian issues evident in their lives. She views photography as a bridge that connects diverse mindsets in a world divided by boundaries, while serving to mirror our thoughts and better humanity.

Farah will share vivid photographs and perspectives from her book, Jerusalem-Three Souls in One City, walking us through The Old City.  Each photograph has a story to tell that weaves a powerful pictorial narrative in a new and different light.  She presents the lives that thrive within the city’s ancient walls, despite the struggles faced daily by its inhabitants.  From religious rituals to the busy marketplace, Farah will share her unique insights into the lives of the followers of the world’s three predominant faiths and how they manage to live in mutual respect and harmony.
