The mission of GCISD is to be the BEST, which is defined as Building Excellent Schools Together. GCISD maintains a long-standing commitment to educational excellence for all children. Building on its mission, the district continues increasing the level of rigor in classrooms to address expectations of the community and better prepare students for success in college and their future careers.

 Dr. Robin Ryan joined GCISD as Superintendent on June 15, 2010. He has served 32 years in education, all in Texas. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science from Texas A&M University; his Master’s of Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls; and his Doctorate from the University of North Texas. He also served 20 years in the Army National Guard and Reserves, retiring as a major in 2004. 

 Dr. Ryan and his family have lived in Grapevine since 1995. He is married to Dr. Cindy Ryan. They have three children:  daughter, Daryl, is a graduate of Grapevine High School and Texas A&M and is now a speech-language pathologist for Santa Fe ISD; son, Reed, is a graduate of Grapevine High School and Texas A&M and is a teacher/coach for Prosper ISD; and their youngest son, Graham, is a senior at Grapevine High School.
