Westwood Village Rotary's first lady, Nina Jackson, will speak at the first meeting of the club's auxiliary on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The meeting, to which all Rotarians and their spouses are invited, will be held at the home of Peggy Bloomfield in Pacific Palisades.   Please make your reservation with Margie Downie at 310-394-4827 and each person is asked to donate $5 towards the expenses of lunch.  The meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. Nina, a senior judicial attorney, does research on the appeals made from both civil and criminal decisions in superior courts.  A recent high-profile case she worked on involved a Mandeville Canyon doctor who attacked bicyclists who were bothering drivers on the boulevard. She did her undergraduate studies at UCLA and also graduated from Southwest Law School.

A new year is fast approaching for Rotarians, and we all should began looking at the events scheduled to take place starting in July.

July 16th - District Breakfast

July 25th - Keeping Up With the Jones' - panel discussion with four Rotary Club Presidents

August 15th - Dr. Anne Coscarelli

September 18th - The first of two dinner evenings hosted by our Past Presidents as "Dinner with your Ex"

September 25th - The second of the two dinner evenings

September 29th - District Picnic at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach

October 17th - The annual DG (now ADG) visit to our Club

October 25th - The first of four days in San Francisco with our sister club as our host

November 9th - Paul Harris Celebration at the home of Endeavor

November 26th - Special joint meeting with LA5 and Santa Monica in downtown to kick off the UCLA v USC Football rivalry

December 12th - Holiday Luncheon (tentative)

January 14th 2014 - District Breakfast

February 13th - Sweetheart Lunch (tentative)

April 8th - District Breakfast

May 1st - District Conference at La Quinta
