Visit the Palos Verdes Peninsula Interpretive Center and view whales through a free telescope given to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes by our club.  Attend the classic Concours d'Elegance auto exhibition founded by our club in 1990.  We also sponsor an annual student art contest and student speakers contest.  Over the years, our club projects have supported the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy, clean-up, paint-up, fix-up days at schools in the Harbor Gateway area, built a kitchen at the Toberman House, served Thanksgiving dinners at Harbor Interfaith, co-sponsored concerts performed by the music departments of Peninsula High and Palos Verdes High and participated with Rotary District 5280 in projects to clean the L.A. River and improve the grounds and buildings at South Park in Los Angeles.

We sponsor an annual Legislative Luncheon with the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce attended by local, state and federal leaders. We honor local teachers at our annual Educator of the Year Dinner.  We give university and trade school scholarships to graduating seniors and support the College Bound program at the Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles Harbor.  We partner with other Rotary clubs in projects and fundraising, including the South Bay Beer and Wine Festival.  Our club speaker programs have included talks by judges, artists, performers, NYT best-selling writers, municipal officers and elected officials, aerospace engineers, inventors, adventurers, professional athletes,  non-profit executives, scientists, university presidents, professors and local school administrators.  Meetings have included offsite docent tours of the Boys & Girls Club of L.A. Harbor, the Palos Verdes Art Center and Museum of Flight in Torrance.

Our social outings have included days at the races, Dodger games, concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, picnics and train rides at Charles Wilson Park and dinners and receptions at the Interpretive Center, member homes, restaurants, craft breweries, and holiday outings at the Norris Theater, Los Verdes Golf Course and the Rolling Hills Country Club among other festive locations.

Our members are successful business and professional leaders, whose talents include art, music, graphic arts and public speaking, and whose interests and activities include boating, cycling, golf, hiking, ocean kayaking, photography, running, scouting, SCUBA, tennis, and youth baseball, soccer and other youth sports.   We are accounting, advertising, banking, church, construction, creative arts, dental, engineering, financial planning, graphic design and reproduction, health, insurance, interior and landscape design, legal, manufacturing, medical, non-profit, photography studio, public relations, publishing, real estate and travel professionals and executives among other notable occupations.  We are single, married, widowed, divorced, moms and dads with kids in school, working, retired and grandparents with time to see the world.  Our members include all faiths, lifestyles and political persuasions--none of which matters because our meetings are a respite from controversy.  We are united in service, dedicated to peace, and conduct ourselves and our businesses according to an ethical Rotary "four-way test:"  Is it the truth; is it fair to all concerned; will it build goodwill and better friendships; will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Rotary International says, "Join leaders, exchange ideas, take action."  That is the invitation our club extends to all successful doers living or working on or near the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  To learn more, join us some Friday at noon at the Los Verdes Golf Club.  We will look forward to your visit.
