It’s a new year, a new theme, and a new president to give your full lack of attention and reserved respect—all of which was made clear at Friday’s Club Assembly. For the record, nearly all of what you heard coming from the gold- (and blue) digging floozies of the peanut gallery has no basis in fact, “but I don't want to say with certitude to you something that "I don’t know the certain truth.”

It’s a new year, a new theme, and a new president to give your full lack of attention and reserved respect—all of which was made clear at Friday’s Club Assembly. For the record, nearly all of what you heard coming from the gold- (and blue) digging floozies of the peanut gallery has no basis in fact, “but I don't want to say with certitude to you something that I don’t know the certain truth.”1 With regard to the legal matter initiated by the serving of the summons by Charlie Elias of what some describe as the most respected profession, (again, “but I don’t want to say with certitude to you something that I dont know the certain truth”), Declaration 2 of the Complaint, “I think David is very sexy” does help to prove the Four Way Test is alive and well. Beyond that, clearly it is simply a matter of choosing me over Arnold. Thank you to those who put out, er, I mean, who put them- selves out there, including Linda Elliott Spitzer, Jackie No Lackey Ignon, and Liz “the makeup gal” Fitzgerald Fitzarnold Fitzclint Fitzanyone, and to Lush Fish- man, Steve Day for Night and Chris Movieians. As far as director Greg goes, come on, we need some more Spark, Man. And to Greg O’Brien, Julia Parton, and Keith Deisenroth, I say, you’ll never work in this town again, at least until the next Adopt-a-Highway cleanup. Thank you all for making it a memorable first meeting!

The Rotary International theme this year is Reach within to Em- brace Humanity. That’s sounds right on target for our club. As

Rotarians from Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary, we want to provide our community, both locally and internationally, with the resources and natural talents within each of us. Let’s reach to help people where we can help most. That is accomplished both through the offering of our physical labors and financial assistance, whichever best fits the situation for both the giver and the receiver. Try to em- brace every opportunity offered to make it a better world. Humanity needs people like us. Humanity needs Rotarians. Humanity needs YOU. Let’s Reach Within to Embrace Humanity!
