Did you know that in the 2007-2008 Rotary year, District 5280 (which includes our club) was #1 in Zone 24, the United States, and in the world for donations? Through June 30 our District contributed a total of $1,576,062.49 towards annual giving, which is $684.65 per capita. Total giving for the 2007-2008 year from the District, which includes the Permanent Fund and Restricted giving, is a whopping $1,813,569. Just think of the humanitarian projects and good that can be achieved because of the generosity of Rotarians in our district.

Governor Chuck Anderson's goal in the 2008-09 Rotary year for Annual Giving is $575,000 or $250 per member. This will go towards:

a. Ambassadorial Scholarships b. Group Study Exchange in Korea c. Youth Exchange d. Matching Grants e. District Simplified Grants

District Foundation Chair, Pat Cashin, PDG, encourages everyone to give what they can. We know not everyone can give a million dollars. All it takes is the small amounts from everyone - $10, $15, $25, $100 -- whatever you are able to give and whatever your heart dictates.
