R.I. and Club Foundations

November is offiially Foundation Month in the world of Rotary International.  The Rotary Foundation (TRF) began in 1917 when RI President Arch Klumph suggested that RI set aside money earmarked for humanitarian projects.  The original contribution of $26.50 came from his own home club, Kansas City 13.  In the past 100+ years, TRF has contributed billions of dollars to project and causes around the globe, all the while spending a miniscule six percent on administration, earning it a four star rating of an overall 97.51 % (100% for accountability and transparency) by Charity Navigator, which monitors the spending and efficiency of more than 10,000 major philanthropies in the world.  Meanwhile, beyond untouched reserves of approximately $350,000, our own PVP Rotary Club Foundation annually spends up to $50,000 in community grants for local projects and scholarships in the South Bay.  Learn more about the work and futures of both of these amazing foundations at today/s meeting.  Bring a prospective member.
