The 2015 Malibu Rotary Club Middle and High School Annual Singing Competition was held January 21st at Raitt Recital Hall at the Pepperdine University campus in Malibu. 10 singers Malibu Middle and High Schools competed for six prizes awarded by the Malibu Rotary Club.  
 
Three winners in the Middle School division and three winners in the High School division were announced  and cash prizes of $250, $150, and $100 were  awarded the night of the event to the first, second, and third place finishers in each division.  Winner of the High School Division was sponsored by the Malibu Rotary Club to compete in the Rotary District 5280 Art, Dance, Music and Speech Competition held March 28th at Loyola Marymount University.  

 
In the Malibu Rotary Club Senior High school division Isobel Anthony won first prize singing the aria "O Luce di Qust 'a Anima".  Second prize went to Nancy Wakecki for her rendition of  "Lullaby of Birdland," and third prize to Maggie Valdman, who sang and scatted down "Route 66."

In the middle school division first prize winner was Morgan Perlmutter who had everyone in stitches with the hilarious  "Daryl Is a Boy (Who Lives in My Closte", with second prize going to Claire Aneet singing "Stranger to the Rain," and third prize to Alina Rost Armstrong singing "Cute Boys With Shorts".

All the students are in Amy Loch's choral classes at Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School.  Joellen McHaughton accompanied all the singers on piano. Entrants were judged on Vocals, Presentation, and Style by a panel of judges made up of Marcelo Gndlin, Terrence Davis, John Elman, Hunter Havins, and Avery Davis.
