High School Scholarships 2018-2019

Our club is offering two scholarships with different eligibility requirement.

You may apply to one or both scholarships. You MUST submit an application, essay and recommendation form & letter with each scholarship you are applying for.

You will only be selected for one scholarship that is awarded by the club.

 

 

This scholarship is open to all graduating High School seniors who will be pursuing a college degree through a 4 year college, community college or trade school.  You need to have campus and/or community involvement and demonstrate an academic and financial need.

 

 

The Carl Maravilla Scholarship honors the memory of our friend and fellow Rotarian, Carl Maravilla.

Carl was a member of Club Rotario De Latinos Unidos for 5 years and served as president in 2015-2016. Carl was a man of extraordinary talent and depth. He possessed a keen intellect, was an exceptional athlete, and dedicated his life to service. His life embodied the Rotary tenet of Service above Self.

This scholarship of $1,500 will be given to a high school senior with financial need attending a college or vocational school. The recipient will have demonstrated academic excellence and active participation in sports and the main criteria for this award is community service.

Through their actions, the recipient will have shown their dedication to helping others in their local community, school, religious organization and/or family.

This award will be given to a young man or woman who has demonstrated Service above Self.
