Please join us at our virtual club meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Our guest speaker is Edwin Chang, writer and director of the Pixar Animation Studios SparkShorts film, “Wind.” Wind is a compelling animated story about family and sacrifice, and it’s also an immigration story. He will share with us his experience of making this animated film and many more.

Edwin is a writer and director and also simulation technical director at Pixar Animation Studios. He has worked on many Pixar animation films, including Up, Brave, and Inside Out. He’s the recipient of VES Award – Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project, and he has published “Sketching Articulation and Pose for Facial Animation.” He graduated from Brown University where he studied Computer Science and Art Semiotics.

The Rotary Club of Korea Town donated $10,000 ($5,000 per each organization) to local organizations (KFAM and KYCC) to help the needy people in these tough circumstances due to Covid-19.

KFAM (Connie Chung Joe, CEO is our member, too) provides Living expenses to domestic violence victims who are suffering more in this Covid-19.

KYCC provides lunch in association with the local restaurants which are also suffering due to Covid-19 to seniors and low income residents.

One of our members, Yong Kyu Yi donated $25,000 for this and our club matched some funds. The remaining donation (and more funds to be raised) will be used for the local community in need.
According to legend, the Greek messenger Pheidippides had to run from the battlefield in Marathon all the way to Athens to announce the defeat of the Persians. ... The original footrace was called a marathon in honor of the legend and as a result it also covered 25 miles

Currently, 1 in 7 people in Los Angeles experiences hunger. Fight hunger with us by giving just a little bit of your time. Help us sort, inspect, and repackage donated food items from local food drives before they get distributed to those in need.

We will volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank assembling food packages for over 27,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. By giving just a little of our time, we can make a big difference in our community.

Register by clicking on the link on this event page. Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation with all the logistics and forms. If you do not receive the email confirmation, please check your spam/junk folder. If you sign up to volunteer, please make every effort to show up, or cancel your registration so that others can take your place.
