Our annual farewell Picnic in the Park.  No program, nor announcements, no songs, just the club as a family, spouses, children (outgoing president Will Medina’s wife and two children), and grandchildren if you have them (Dan Fox had his daughter and three granddaughters there).  Incoming president Russell Skersick greeting us at the curb.  An informal way to wind down the presidential year.

This year’s menu featured barbeque, and corn on the cob wrapped in aluminum foil, the tenderest you can imagine, although Angelo Cardono did suggest that his way, with the husk still on and steamed over the coals, was even better.

Dominick DiMario was congratulated on starting the first picnic in the park years ago, when he said he could do our final clubhouse steak luncheon “cheaper and better” in Furman Park. And he did too, with a little help from Ralph Granata with the Italian salad and dessert.  This year’s picnic was well organized by Barbara Lambreth.

Then it was time for the group picture.  Dan Fox was ready to do the photography honors, as Art Morris always did in the past, getting us in some semblance of order.  Then Lauren Torres, Dan Fox’s daughter, took over the camera work, and Dan slipped into a back row.  The result – another fine rogue’s gallery to put along side all our past pictures, to become another cherished memento.  Here we are today, it says, everyone smiling up at the camera lens.
