New Interact Club at Downey High School

Doug Baker provided a Rotary Moment as he installed the charter board of the newly created Downey High School Interact Club.  It was a treat to watch well groomed boys and girls go through a serious moment in their young lives. The boys wore ties and the girls were nicely dressed.   Doug emphasized that though in one year another board would come to take their place, this board’s time is now, “this is your year.”

For the Program period, the new president of the Downey Interact, whom Doug had singled out mercilessly, to give him a chance to forge his soul in the loneliness of being the leader, spoke to gave us reasons why high school students should be interested in joining Interact.

One was the opportunity for leadership, as well as the chance to shape the community, to learn about the world, to think about the future, and to plan and attend interesting events.
